Family Photoshoot Bristol – Leigh Woods

Family Photoshoot Bristol

I was incredibly chuffed to hear from Alice & Joe again three years after their Bristol Registry Office wedding. Alice said they spend a lot of time as a family in Leigh Woods, Bristol, and really wanted to have this captured as it meant so much to them. So one morning in October I joined them on one of their walks for a family photoshoot.

The autumn colours in Leigh Woods may not have been at their best yet but Alice made sure that her family was dressed for the season. The colours she picked for her and her family to wear went so well together and helped to make the images feel autumnal nonetheless. Alice & Joe knew of a less popular and incredibly beautiful part of the woods which they have often explored. This was a perfect example of a family photoshoot that required very little direction for me. This family just got on with their morning walk in the woods as if I wasn’t there (always my advice!) and I simply observed and composed my shots along the way. As a reportage family photographer this is in my opinion by far the best way to capture a family as they really are and all those little moments that matter. The children feel more at ease that way too!

Below is a small selection of the images from this Bristol family photoshoot. As part of the family photography package Alice & Joe received over 40 digital images and 20 prints presented together in a lovely box.

Alice & Joe, thank you so much for inviting me along on one of your walks and to capture this very special time for you. I so enjoyed hanging out with your three girls and I look forward to seeing you all again soon!
