Bristol Registry Office Wedding
It might have been a rainy Monday in December for most folk in Bristol, but I couldn’t have spent it better than to capture this truly wonderful afternoon with a great little group of people at the Bristol Registry Office.
Alice & Joe moved to Bristol less than 12 months ago and took it upon themselves to run one of Gloucester Road’s best known pubs, The Bristol Flyer. Together with their two young daughters and closest family and friends, they had a Bristol Registry Office wedding followed by dinner and drinks at Hotel Du Vin.
The day started off at the pub itself. Alice and her bridesmaids got ready upstairs whilst Joe and the boys sipped whiskey downstairs. With a lot of help from both the bridesmaids and groomsmen Alice & Joe managed to avoid seeing each other all morning, whilst being in the same building – hats off to them! Once the boys had gone on their way, a limousine arrived to pick up Alice and her girls. I quickly made my way to the Registry Office to find family and friends outside on the steps eagerly awaiting Alice’s arrival.
The ceremony took place in the beautiful Mayoral Room. It was short and sweet and brought a tear to many eye in the room. After the ceremony the guests gathered outside the front door ready with their confetti whilst I took Alice & Joe apart for some photos on the grand staircase. Confetti thrown, all were keen to have a drink and a bite to eat so everyone made their way to Hotel Du Vin where the staff had set up a beautiful large dining table and the gorgeous cake made out of macaroons. What more could you ask for?
It was an absolute privilege and joy to photograph this lovely, intimate ceremony. I can now officially call myself a Bristol Registry Office Wedding Photographer. Without a doubt one of my favourite weddings of 2016!
