Latest on the Clifton Wedding Photography scene: Charlotte & Ian’s big day at one of Bristol’s most prestigious and interesting venues Merchants’ Hall.

You can find Merchants’ Hall Bristol just a short walk away from Clifton Village and the Suspension Bridge. The place is steeped in history. After World War II this grand, detached house was converted for the Society of Merchant Venturers and has since been designated as a Grade II listed building. It’s full of historic artefacts and this really spoke to Charlotte & Ian when they first came across this venue. The staff is ever so friendly and, proud as they are, love to show off the house to visitors.

Charlotte & Ian hired me to capture the most important parts of their day; the wedding ceremony, photos of the two of them together, some group photos and of course the speeches. This was a relatively intimate wedding which, in my opinion, are often the best! I get to know most of the guests and that way everyone feels comfortable with me and I feel very much a part of the day.

When I got to take Charlotte & Ian down to the avenue of beech trees on Clifton’s Promenade, right in front of Merchants’ Hall, I was totally in my element. It may not have been in full autumn colours just yet but it still provided a stunning backdrop. On top of that, the venue also has a beautifully manicured, spacious garden which is a rare treat in the city centre. We got some lovely shots here as well.
