WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY AT OWLPEN MANOR

I’m pretty chuffed to be able to call myself an expert at Owlpen Manor wedding photography. It’s become a bit of a second home for me over the years and what a journey it has been!

I photographed one of my first weddings at Owlpen Manor back in 2017. As for most wedding photographers who are just starting out, it was a somewhat nerve-wrecking day for me. Despite the nerves, I left the day buzzing and very excited to show my clients their photographs. Fast-forward to today and I have captured more than 30 weddings at Owlpen Manor, in every season and all weathers. Though my style is very much the same still, I am a far more confident and experienced wedding photographer than I was in 2017 and love advising couples on how to get the most out of this venue in terms of photographs.

Owlpen Manor has a lot going for it. It offers civil as well as religious ceremonies. I’ve captured ceremonies in the Cider Barn, on the top lawn, on the steps with the Manor House in the backdrop and also in the church. What’s remarkable about this place is that it has its only little valley which makes it very peaceful and secluded. And if Owlpen Manor is your wedding venue you and your guests get it all to yourselves as it’s not open to the general public. There are loads of little cottages for family to stay over, and separate spaces for bride and groom to get ready without bumping into each other. Dogs are welcome too, always a bonus!

Other wedding suppliers I regularly work with at Owlpen Manor include Victoria Abbosh for make-up, Fordham Hair Design, Wild Love Films for videography and Dizzy Feet Events for evening entertainment.

Couples who book me are usually not comfortable with having their photo taken and like my laid-back approach of minimal posing. As the grounds of Owlpen Manor are a bit of wedding photographer’s dream, the background does all the work for you. When taking couples aside for photos I ask them to simply catch up together and act as if I’m not there. You don’t get much time alone on your wedding day after all. That way people are more relaxed and the photos tend be much more natural rather than awkwardly posed.

Owlpen Manor is just one of the many Cotswold venues I partner with. Other local venues who have made me a recommended supplier include: Water’s Edge at Ewen, Westonbirt House, The Barn at Berkeley and Badminton Estate.

If you’re after an Owlpen Manor wedding photographer who’ll keep things chilled, blend in, and capture the day as it actually felt, I’d love to hear from you.

Judith is perfection. Beautiful photos, lovely to deal with, made everything easy and put everyone at their ease. We would recommend her in a heartbeat.
