The Barn at Berkeley has become a bit of a second home for me over the years. I’ve photographed over 30 weddings there now, across all seasons. Every time, it feels both familiar and fresh, and the staff are wonderful! The space lends itself so well to relaxed, natural wedding photography.
The Barn at Berkeley is a gem of a venue, just off the A38 near Berkeley Castle. What makes it special? For one, it’s got a great mix of spaces. The gardens are lovely for couple portraits. There’s a swing under a big willow tree that catches the light beautifully in the evenings, and a little fountain that’s perfect for quieter moments. The courtyard is strung with fairy lights and makes a cracking backdrop for those in-between, candid shots.
The barn is a big open space that you can make your own with round tables or trestles. There’s a stage already set up for your band or DJ too which saves you the faff and makes transitions super smooth. I have worked with many different supplier at this venue, drop me a line to ask me for recommendations.
And then there’s the play barn. I’ve never seen anything like it at another wedding venue. It’s got a giant slide and yes, I’ve photographed both kids and newly-weds giving it a go. It makes for a great surprise for wedding guests.
