BRISTOL REGISTRY OFFICE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

The Bristol Registry Office is a great spot to get married, right in the centre of Bristol, with five different rooms to choose from depending on the size and feel of your day.

I’ve been photographing weddings at Bristol Registry Office since 2016 and it’s always a pleasure to come back. With the grand Mayoral Room and many smaller ceremony spaces, it’s a brilliant place to get married. It’s right in the heart of Bristol so has a lot to offer in terms of “where to next”. Wedding reception venues within a short walking distance include Hotel Du Vin, Bristol Harbour Hotel and Bristol Beacon.

The grand staircase is always a favourite for a few relaxed portraits. I always advise couples to use this time away from guests as a time to catch up and a chance to let things sink in. Then it’s out onto the steps for confetti and hugs, often witnessed by one or two bystanders who simply can’t look away when a bride and groom descend the steps!

The streets around St Nick’s Market are full of life and make a great backdrop for a wander after the ceremony. The cobbled lanes and colourful corners are nothing short of character. If you know Bristol you know there’s hardly a more Bristolian setting for wedding photos. To top it all off the alleyways around St Nick’s are lit up by fairy lights in the evening, and that’s what truly makes me a happy wedding photographer :)

If you’re planning your ceremony at Bristol Registry Office or something similar, I’d love to hear about it. If it’s relaxed, natural wedding photography that you’re after, you're in the right place. I photograph weddings exactly as they unfold and capture the real moments and emotions as unobtrusively as possible.

Judith is the only photographer I would use for special milestones in our lives. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for personal, immaculate and very moving images.”
